About Us
Food delivery built for the students everyone else skipped.
Foody Takeout starts in Gidan Kwano – not because it’s easy, but because 15,000 students there deserve hot food at their lodges without leaving their rooms. We are building something small, real, and meant to last.
Our Story
It started with a simple observation.
There are students in Gidan Kwano who eat once a day – not because food isn’t available, but because getting it is inconvenient. Their lodge is far from the canteen. It’s dark outside. They have a test tomorrow. The food vendor they trust doesn’t do delivery.
“The food is there. The hunger is there. The problem is just the distance between them.“
Foody Takeout was built to close that distance. We are a food delivery platform launching in student communities in Minna, starting from the campus area of the Federal University of Technology – one of Nigeria’s largest student populations, and a market that every major delivery company in Lagos and Abuja has quietly ignored.
We are not here to compete with everyone at once. We are here to serve this community well first, then grow from that foundation with discipline.
Why We Started
Major cities got the apps. Student towns got nothing.
Food delivery has become a normal part of daily life in many major cities. Yet in many student communities and emerging neighborhoods, getting food delivered is still difficult or unavailable.
We saw this firsthand in Gidan Kwano, Minna.
Students often have to leave their lodges, walk long distances, or rely on phone calls and informal arrangements just to get a meal. Meanwhile, many local restaurants serve great food but have no reliable delivery system.
We believed convenience shouldn’t be limited to a few cities. That is why Foody Takeout was created.
We are starting with student communities because we understand their needs firsthand, and because we believe underserved communities deserve the same level of convenience found elsewhere.
Rather than trying to be everywhere at once, we are focused on building something that works well in our community first, then expanding from a strong foundation.
Why Students First
Students are the sharpest early market we know.
Students order food constantly. They are comfortable with apps, comfortable paying online, and vocal about what they like. When they trust a brand, they tell twenty people. When they don’t, they tell forty.
They also have a specific, predictable problem: they are time-poor, often exhausted, and living far from the restaurants they rely on. A student who orders through Foody once and gets their food hot, on time, and without drama – that student orders again tomorrow.
There is also a longer-term logic here. The student ordering jollof rice from Foody today is the young professional in Abuja in five years. Building loyalty now is building our future customer base. We are not just serving this generation, we are growing with them.
Current Focus
Starting with Students
We are launching in student communities because they are active, digitally responsive, and in need of convenience.
Three steps - One hot meal at your door.
1
Open the app or website. See nearby restaurants, their menus, and current prices. No surprises.
2
Choose your meal and place your order. Pay securely – card, transfer, or wallet.
3
A Foody rider picks up your food and delivers it directly to your lodge. You track it live.

Here is exactly what we are building, in the order we are building it. No hype. Just a roadmap we believe in.
Now
Gidan Kwano, Minna – Validate demand, build restaurant partnerships, understand how students order, and perfect the delivery experience before expanding anything.
Next
Wider Minna + More Campus Towns – Take what we learn in GK and apply it to other underserved student communities in Niger State and beyond. Every new campus is a repeatable model, not an experiment.
Future
Electric Mobility Infrastructure – As we scale our rider fleet with electric bikes, we will build charging infrastructure that supports our operations and creates public value making delivery cleaner and cheaper simultaneously.
Long-term
The Student-Town Playbook for Africa – Nigeria alone has 200+ universities. West Africa has hundreds more underserved communities. We are building a model here that can be replicated across every city that big platforms have skipped.
Our Promise
We are not trying to become the biggest delivery company overnight. Our promise is simple: Help customers get food conveniently. Help restaurants reach more people. Help riders earn fairly. If we do those three things consistently, everything else will grow from there.
Our Mission
To make food delivery simple, affordable, and accessible for students and underserved communities, while helping local restaurants grow and creating earning opportunities through efficient, electric-powered logistics.
Our Vision
To build the most trusted delivery and mobility network for student communities and emerging cities across Africa, starting from Gidan Kwano, Minna.
Foody Takeout Technologies Limited · Minna, Nigeria
We are not the biggest delivery company in Nigeria. We are the one that showed up in Gidan Kwano when no one else did. That is where we start. That is who we are.
