Our Story
Foody Takeout didn’t begin with an app.
It began with a problem we experienced ourselves.
Living in Gidan Kwano, we saw students walking long distances just to buy food.
Sometimes it was raining.
Sometimes they were preparing for examinations.
Sometimes it was already dark.
Sometimes they simply didn’t have the time or energy.
“The food was available. The restaurants were available. The customers were hungry.”
The only thing missing was a reliable way to connect them.
While major delivery companies focused on Lagos and Abuja, thousands of students in Gidan Kwano were still being overlooked.
Instead of asking, “How do we compete with the biggest food delivery companies?”
We asked, “How do we solve a real problem for one community exceptionally well?”
That question became Foody Takeout.

In our first few weeks after launch, Foody Takeout served hundreds of students, completed hundreds of deliveries, partnered with local restaurants, and helped restaurant owners generate hundreds of thousands of naira in sales.

Future
Electric Mobility Infrastructure – As we scale our rider fleet with electric bikes, we will build charging infrastructure that supports our operations and creates public value making delivery cleaner and cheaper simultaneously.
Long-term
The Student-Town Playbook for Africa – Nigeria alone has 200+ universities. West Africa has hundreds more underserved communities. We are building a model here that can be replicated across every city that big platforms have skipped.
